I am new to the green egg but have smoked ribs for years. Is the cooking time similar to traditional smokers for ribs?

Should be pretty close to what you're used too. If you are use to smoking at 220-230, use 250 for your dome temp, that will give you a grid temp in that range. -RP

the number of racks won't affect your cooking time.
for BBs, I allow 6 hours, more for spares.
seeing how you are new to the Egg, make sure you get your fire burning clean before you cook. that means you don't just get it up to temp but make sure the smoke is invisible (or close to it) before putting your food on. 20 minutes usually works. I start my fire and then go in and start prepping the ribs. -
I smoke my ribs at 250 dome temp for 6 hours. always great.

Thanks folks. Sounds like the cooking approach is similar to what I am familiar with. Can't wait to try out some ribs on the Egg this weekend.
