split pea soup!!!!! I just cooked a ham yesterday and have a bone waiting for a pot. I think I'll go with that!
-
Soup is WAY too much trouble. I made some fresh leek soup a while back and it was wonderful! But it's just............SOUP.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Right now - corn chowder and caldo verde - but next week it could be something different.

Posole, or chicken and sausage gumbo.
-
And I do appreciate that!! But, my friend, here's my idea of a soup recipe. Add one can of water to this...
Then heat in saucepan. Works every time. Not that I do it more than once or twice a year. Just not a soup kinda guy.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Michael,
Bletch. Try a pea soup with leftover ham bone on the egg. It is really good in those CT winters.

Colcannon, Gumbo File, Split Pea, Ham and Bean, Mom's Potato Soup with little bits of bacon in it.... Good stuff all!
-
Lobster stew and sausage gumbo sound the best so far.

When the cold weather sets in I always have a pot of soup in the fridge. Italian wedding soup, ham and bean, ham potato and cabbage, beef barley and wild mushroom, French onion. And chicken soup of all kinds with kreplach, matzo ball, noodles or rice, or "mish mash", that means everything.
-
The potato soups are sounding good too. Never tried to make one.
-
Has to be my wifes Beef Barley soup. After we do a prime rib the bones and meat go in for great soup!!!
GOOD EATS AND GOOD FRIENDS

Cream of crab all the way! Sprinkled with some old bay and some saltines to go with it!
-
Garbanzo Bean Soup is a favorite here! Really like a good French Onion Soup too.
-
Chunky vegetable beef reigns supreme here!

I am going to smoke a Turkey breast so I can make more Turkey and Rice soup with the carcus. I hope I can recreate a batch as good as my last.

You are absolutely right, my friend. My apologies.
