Smokey and I spent Saturday doing some demo cooking at the Chili Cookoff at Stone Mountain. We do 'ABC' cooking (anything but chili) to demonstrate the versatility of the Egg. The biggest problem is that every time we take something off the grill, there is always a line of people who just missed out on getting anything. Then we have to tell them that we will have so-and-so coming off in about 45 minutes. Now Smokey cooked some quesadillas and those were great because he could say he would have more off in ten minutes. I did some pizzas and those were good since I could have the next one off in 15 minutes.
What do you like to cook that spends only 30 minutes or less on the grill? Don't worry about prep time, just what has a short grill time that would be a crowd pleaser?

Boneless skinless thighs rubbed and cooked direct. Not only do they cook really fast, but can be sliced quickly and served, and they cook up juicy and yummy. Slice each one into 4 or 5 pieces and serve with toothpicks.
I know it's just chicken, but damn it's good.
GOOD LUCK!

i cook the same thing at just about all the fests i attend and the biggest hit, believe it or not, is grilled asparagus,, put it in a ziplock with a bit of olive oil salt pepper sqeeze of lemon and give it a shake ,, then grill.. last two fests i went thru 5 lbs and could have used more..
bag of costco shrimp shake with olive oil and old bay and grill
chicken yakitori.. chicken tenders on bamboo skewers with yakatori suuce..
potato wedges ,, once again in the zip lock with olive oil and dizzy dust.
i fried small scrapple cubes and the thinner tater tots in a cast iron took off the egg and then did omlette in the pan.. put hunk of scrapple a tater tot and piece of egg on a tooth pick .
marinated london broil with cowlick cooked at 350 to medium rare sliced thin and served.
i try to have something comming off the egg every 20 minutes -

Hey Bill,
I always do pork sates at fests cause you can do a lot quickly. About ten minutes or less. Recipe under pork or check e-mails from me from Atlanta fests.

damn. i was trying to make them all think you were me.
boneless leg o lamb is a good call, too. -
i think i will add that to my repetoire
thanks -
bill,
Thanks. They usually go over well. You can do chicken or beef with the same marinade but the pork comes out so tender it is always the most popular.

I actually did two batches of stuffed boneless chicken thighs. Because they were rolled, they took a bit longer. I did use a bit of your Pineapple Head rub on them along with a stuffing of spinach, feta cheese, pineapple bits and some turkey Italian sausage. I like the idea of not stuffing, they would cook faster and with much less mess.

Those look good and would be a big hit. I think I would have to take them to the back table and remove the meat from skewers before placing them in front of the masses. I do have the recipe. I may try that on my steel skewers (they get hot so peoplpe will not steal the skewer before I could remove the meat :-) )

Thanks guys. Some great suggestions. I'll have to go through and pull a recipe collection together for this. Maybe I'll call it "Rachael Ray Goes Grilling" or "30 Minute Grills".
Ideally if I could keep cook times down to 15 minutes or less I could really impress. We serve out a lot of food off the EGG as it is but more would even be better. -
Bill,
I just serve them on the skewer. I'll email you the peanut cashew sauce recipe as well.

I like to do skirt steak. A short( -
Spatched Cornish hens are great. About 12-20 mins. Not as handy to serve, but mighty tasty!!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
