Just wanted to share a picture of the first steaks of the local beef we got last week.
Seared 1.5 min per side at 700, shut it down and cooked another 3.5 min per side. They came out a little past medium, have to try 3 min per side next time, otherwise they were very tasty.

They are beautiful!!!
Rule#1-You can COOK ANYTHING!!!
Rule#2-You CANNOT UNCOOK ANYTHING!!!
Next time monitor the Internal Temp.If you do not have an instant read thermometer, get one.Thermapen is a good one.It has paid for itself times over on cooks I wuld have OVERCOOKED.You ALWAYS have the option of throwing the meat back on the grill a few minutes if you want it cooked more. For thick steaks,I pull at NO MORE than 125 Internal.Hope this helps. -
looks real good!
Sam's had some Angus strips on sale that melted in our mouths--went back for more today...have found the basic NY cut too dry in the past...your's look over the top way too good :woohoo: -
Nicely done. After all the cooks I have done getting a stake to come out at the desired doneness is still one of the hardest things for some reason.

Looks amazing - love the sear marks.
