what this is??
I picked this up in an antique shop yesterday. It measures 7x9x 3/4" deep.

It's a early bbq grill. The top is the grate and the bottom pan is where you would put charcoal.

He can lay his cigar on top while eggin and the ashes will fall through.

How about something simple like a pat warmer. Used to keep food warm. Put some hot coals in it and the pan on the trivet.
