Remote thermoneter options

Any ideas for options with a remote thermometer? I have Maverick ET-73 and like it in theory, smoker temp reads close to both dome thermometer and Thermapen stuck thru daisy wheel, however meat probe currenty reads 205* on the butt that I am cooking, while Thermapen reads 180* and my "walmart special wireless thrm reads 182* (would use this one all the time, but it doess not read both.

Does this sound like a probe problem? Maverick exchanges them for free, maybe I will try that if no better suggestions.
