Rehabbing a $125 Egg

I'm the guy who asked earlier for advice about getting a large BGE into a Prius. It all worked out. For $125, I got the base & lid of what I think is a large BGE, rusty ash door, rusty hinge & bands, fire rings in two diameters (one is broken into two usable pieces), larger and smaller metal grill, ceramic ash grate, ceramic lid cap.

Here's a link to some photos:

No thermometer or iron daisy wheel cap.
I think the firebox is missing, although I do have two fire rings (one is split in two).

I would like to repaint the whole thing at some point and, if appropriate, fill the crack in the lid.

Do I indeed need a "firebox" and where do I get one cheap? What else would you do to this puppy, in order of priority? I'll probably upgrade just a little at a time.

Thanks for any & all help.

Steve
