How I got my Big Green Egg

I have been admiring BGEs for a long time, and on a trip to Austin to visit my Dad, I took him over to BBQ Galore to see what a BGE actually was. To our surprise they had an EGG cooking right in front of the store. Needless to say, we were both highly impressed!

I told Dad, we (my wife and me) had started saving up to buy one, and I was going to build a table for it. About a month later, Dad showed up at our house with an EGG and a workbench he bought at Goodwill.

We had the best Father/Son day putting the EGG together, visiting, enjoying some good Scotch, and adapting and re-working the workbench into a BGE cooking table. It was a very happy time.

Here a few photos our finished BGE table.
