Smithfield Beef Tenderloin, Salty

Picked up a small [only about 1 1/2 lbs] beef tenderloin at Kroger. It was packaged by Smithfield. I thought a small loin like that would be really good for just two people. I seasoned it with CharCrust Peppercorn Ranch, which I like a lot for beef roasts.

The resulting cook was very, very salty. Then I remembered the post a few weeks ago about Smithfield Pre-packaged ribs being overly salty. Apparently this also applies to any beef they sell  :(

Of Course, like any Tenderloin, it was two pieces

Small enough to cook by just searing with a couple of flips

Cooked to 125 internal

It was very tasty [a little overdone] served up with some terrific corn and tomatoes we picked up from a roadside stand.

Just a reminder, it it says Smithfield on the package, it will likely be loaded with salt.
