Flat side of cast iron grid.

Just bought a cast iron grid for my egg. Wondered, does anyone ever cook on the flat side of the grid? Thought it might work for small things like popcorn shrimp that might otherwise get stuck in the grooves. Not planning anything like that, just wondered.

we use both sides of the CIG. small items, burgers and anything else where we don't need the sear marks

Burgers and flimsey stuff like fish on the flat side,everything else on the pointy side!It works!
