I am purty anal about keeping my egg cleaned out so I have a question fer the egg family. They will be based on usage of the egg.
I use my egg 3-4 times a week and clean out the ash before every cooking. I've had my egg fer about 3 months or so and decided after my 17 hour brisket to clean out behind the firebox. When I cleaned out behind it, I had had about a dust pan full of ash and small pieces of coal. I didn't think that was too bad. I figured it was good to clean it out fer better air flow anyways and wouldn't hurt since I'd rather over clean then under clean! :woohoo:
Fer all the egg family:
How often do you cook on your egg?
and
How often do you clean out behind the firebox?

Every time I move them.. Which is quite often..

I use the eggs 5-6 nights a week and only take them apart if I need to move them. This hose attached to the shop vac works great for getting around behind the firebox, even on the small.

3-4 nights a week... only clean out with ash tool, too lazy to make anything hard when Eggn take apart, say, one a year :cheer: had my Egg 4 yearsKent Madison MS

We use our Egg 5-6 nights a week. We use the ash tool and a small shop vac to clean out the ash about every other time we use it. We have never removed our fire box.

I use my egg about once a week , unfortunately, with my work schedule, I'd be eating at 10 pm every night, if I cooked during the week. I usually use the ash tool every time, or at least every other time. If I'm doing any kind of lo n slo, I always take the egg apart, and clean behind and under the firebox. I don't want to have to worry about my fire over a long cook.

I cook 3-4 times a week, one being a long smoke, butt, brisket. Use lump and clean maybe twice a month.
