What beautiful flowers Molly. Nothing as pretty here but very sweet to me
the for sale sign went up on our Studio yesterday and we are down sizing

Besides at 38 degrees out there this morning it might be July before anything blooms around here :( -
Happy Woosday!
An Osprey
I was amazed to see that they have white feet, I always assumed that they would be a yellow like other large raptors. Those talons are designed for catching fish. That is a 4" X 4" post his foot is almost covering!
Water Hyacinth, beautiful but invasive.
Dragons live here.
This wildflower has bloomed outside my door for the last week.
I have yet to identify it.
LOL, I'm not particular about the wildlife I photograph. I didn't ask what was for lunch.

Ever have a Black Vulture stick it's tongue out at you?
Have a Happy Woosday all,
Gator

Gator, I believe that is type of asparagus fern. it is sold as a house plant up here and they never bloom LOL
http://ag.arizona.edu/pima/gardening/aridplants/Asparagus_densiflorus.html
Lots of different types and we used a ton of them in floral arrangements. -
You went by and saw my buddy at Wildseed Farms, didn't you?
-
Thanks Julie, You are absolutely right. I have been meaning to look asparagus fern up but had not gotten around to it. Come to find out it is native to South Africa, that would explain why it is not in any of my field guides of wildflowers. At this site I also see where it is a troublesome exotic and I should probably get rid of it soon. To bad, it's a pretty plant. It has been growing at the base of my Green Buttonwood tree for years. The Mockingbirds keep an eye on it and harvest the berries as they get ripe. This is the first year I have been aware of it blooming anything like this.
Looks like you and Niel got out of Florida just in time. Our summer heat started with a vengeance about the first of May and it has been HOT!
Thanks again,
Gator

looks pretty! Can't wait for stuff to bloom up here! :cheer:
-
Well since it is only 40 out right now I am not to sure about the migration :( but I will not complain :0
in a large pot the plant does well and is pretty and can be contained. we are thinking about using it in a couple of our beds down there around some palms and it does fill in easy and choke out the weeds LOL so it is kind of a pretty weed LOL -
For those who didn't see it...

This was the cake at Spring Hen's retirement party Saturday night. Still a few days left 'til it's official.
