Does anyone have one of these? It's a little pricey, but I was wondering what people's impression were, if anyone has one. I have been working in an office next to a Williams Sonoma, and I walk by it in the window everyday. Unfortunately, it makes me also long to fly back home to cook on the egg.

I say, save your money. Spatch it. Direct, if you please.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

boston_stoker,
It has possibilties. You could fill the bottom with potatoes and vegetables and they would get all the chicken drippings.

I have a similar one, but never use it. Nor do I spatchcock. I just lay the bird on the grid either raised direct or indirect. Occassionaly I will beer can one indirect on the small , can directly on the plate setter, but the can is empty.

Thanks Hoss. I will post some picks when I try it out in a few weeks.

I bought 2 at a Lowes closeout about 4 years ago around $8. gave one to a friend and had mine powder coated BGE Green. use it about every 3-4 months, but between spatcock and veggies on the side, really do not see a major need for it. If I had to do over I probably would not buy it.

Post the pics and I'll send you an Elite 'Loney Guard pin!

Beer can and an aluminum pie tin, save the money for lump. Vertical roasters are a concept, not a product in my opinion.
-
Been thinking about a LONEY beer butt, got any thoughts?
-
I'll come up with SUMTHIN!

I don't use it for chicken either but it works ok for meatloaf. -
I have a ceramic one, used it once I use the turkey one more often.
