Well Florida grillin girl, we gave em a try this afternoon, and I gotta say I weren't impressed...just sliced a couple dills and put em on the small pretty hot on its way up to filet searing temps...kinda tasted like a hot pickle...LOL...It may be something to try with some different rubs to add some dimension to it....but hey...one will never know without tryin...

Here is the Southern Hemisphere the pickles are deep fried and not bad as a snack. I found this recipe which is representative of the method. Not really BGE compatable, but good.

Might have to test that at the next Tiki-fest. Heck - by the time you start the fish fry people are getting hungry again. Who knows what all we could throw in that fryer after a few beverages.
    Can't wait for Waldorf!

Mark, I think you'd better stick with something you know - like butts or somethin'.

Sorry, my friend... I just couldn't stop myself. :)

Oh, and I agree about the pickles. Sort of like grilled romaine. Not my thing either. One of these days, maybe I'll actually TRY them! hahaha

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

You could deep fry some Loney to go with the pickles.

  • Wess, I didn't say they were great - I just gave them a try in your honor. And people ate them, course I put some rub on and romanced them some. Well, we tried something new and that's always fun.

    hot pickles...lmao....you kill me Wess

You need to bread and fry slices. Much better. Dip in ranch or remoulade.

We love fried pickles! First had them in Midway, Kentucky and then last year in Mississippi (at the alleged birthplace of fried pickles, the Hollywood Cafe in Tunica).

I had fried dill pickles in Tunica as well as Memphis, and loved them. But they were breaded, don't know about the grilling them though...
