Finally: A real MAN'S meal !!

Well, my bride is out of town for a few days, so I decided to make me a meal that I wanted, and to heck with everybody else.
I opted for a flat iron steak, drizzled with balsamic glaze, blue corn - jalapeño hush puppies, and spinach soufflet.
I thought I'd dine in the atrium.

Just me and my puppies.

By the way, hush puppies get their name from the War Between the States ( I was 14 before I heard it called other than The War of Northern Aggression). When Yankee troops came close to a Confederate campsite, the Rebs would throw balls of cornbread to their dogs to "hush the puppies". That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

A man's meal? LOL I was expecting to see pics of a nice quiche! With some Lone Star!

Looks good anyway, bud!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Everything looks great, but it looks like your expecting trouble during dinner (the pistol). Or is that to show the dogs who the real boss is?
-
Myth: Real men don't eat quiche.
Truth: Real men eat whatever they want. -
And a fancy dessert to boot...
-
Gary You are THE MAN... that sure looks great Congratulations my friend!!!! your floor is like ours...Excellent taste too :woohoo:
-

Adam,
I'm not following your posts. Do we have a problem that I don't know about? :ohmy:__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
Gary,
Sure don't think so. :S
What did I do now? :pinch: -
When my wife goes out of town, here's my meal.Nothing fancy. I'd sure like some of those hush puppies instead

-
Adam,
My question posted before your last post. I didn't understand what the "steer" comment meant, or "he gets the benefit". I know I'm dense, but calling somebody a steer in these parts ain't too complimentary.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
V.I. is correct. "steer" is muy malo.
-
I really believe he was just funnin with ya Gary...and I was just playin along...only in fun...I certainy meant nothing personal..
-
Gary,
I may be alone...but....the reference was (I think Wess is with me)
Texans=a queer or a steer :pinch:
My little mind ASSUMES everyone gets that one. just a little joke Gary.
No offense
I'm sure your neither....at least Wess laughed. 50/50 ain't bad. :P -
I had no idea... :pinch:
Figured queer was muchas mas malo
Me and my little back-lit keyboard -
Oh! Well, in that case, I guess I'll be a steer !!!
Now I remember the line in An Officer And A Gentleman.
Certainly, no harm done, Adam. Like I said, I'm a little dense. :P__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
Dude...if you use my reply as any validity to any of your posts..there are many on here these days that might send you a gold laced invitiation to my neck tie party...hope that made some sense but I trust you can figure it out..
-
The last thing I followed in this thread was... quiche!
 I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
