But JoJo - Maybe he's only 4'3" -- like Steven and Pat.

try smaller portions and stay away from the rice and potatoes.
We bought an OXO kitchen scale a year ago so I could see what 4ozs of meat was and what a 'serving' of other foods were and it made a hell of a difference. Try it! -
Mickey wrote:Mark 7 weeks ago I had a stroke at 240. Dr said I had to be at 180 asap (by the end of the year at most). After I hit the 180 he would tell me what the weight would be.Working to 25 BMI.
My stroke Dr. introduced me to livestrong.com and the app for the iPhone for livestrong.com.
I am eating now what I would drop for a meal 2 months ago. This morning at 214 diet is working for the first time in my life. This livestrong is real good.
Do lots of food (just much smaller amounts) on the eggs.
Best to luck to you.
Glad you are OK, and making a change, but BMI is utter crap, and not a good measure of bodyfat.. If i were to go by my BMI i would be obese..lol I am currently 29 bmi, with abs..LOL
Losing FAT is 90% diet. -

But when I should be 165, that's a big deal to me. I agree 185 isn't that big but this heavy for me I feel like s**t.At 185 you'll get no sympathy from me
.
I hope I didn't offend anyone by thinking 185 is overweight. If I did I'm very sorry. -
You nailed it.

A couple hours a week can do wonders. -
Mike,
Bet your sweating a bit more too. :P -

Baby steps :laugh:Skin-on chicken (the typical spatchcocked method) isn't exactly diet food. Lean protein is your friend, and veggies are even better. Think roasted zucchini/squash, roasted tomatoes (topped w/garlicky bread crumbs), sweet potatoes, asparagus, peppers, carrots, etc. Use your Egg like an oven, why not use it to bake some whole-grain breads. Skip the oil-based marinades (step away from the italian dressing). Try a skinless spatchcock rubbed with a little bit of oil, garlic, & smoked paprika/pimenton, or marinate it in 0% fat all-natural yogurt w/some tandoori paste--both will deliver LOTS of flavor without beaucoup fat calories. -
While I don't actively participate in what you said...I couldn't agree with you more...and one of these days very soon, will most likely be faced with the "fact" that I need to actively participate in your "lifestyle change"...very well said..

I can really see that the egg is a life changing experience. I'm cooking more than ever and I will be cooking healthier too. I really didn't want to offend anyone about weight on this post just wanted some ideas of what to cook, and it has helped alot. I'm going to order the spider and a wok tomorrow just don't know if I should order the whole setup
-
Don't think you gotta throw a lot of money at the egg to do healthy cooks..many been doin it for a long time....but many of the gadgets of today certainly do make it easier...
-
Thanks, but I think maybe the spider and the wok will be fun to have
-
Absolutely...
-
would you get the whole rig system?
-
Just did a week ago after all these years...as far as the wok is concerned the spider makes the magic work because it puts the wok right on the coals...if you can afford to buy all the toys talked about here..by all means do so..you wont regret a one of them...are they "ALL" necessary..certainly not....thats why I said, you don't need to throw money in the egg to be succesful..but they do tend to make life or eggin easier...all things have there place, and many eggers have found ways for many years to achieve different setups....hell it was a bunch of eggers using fireplace firebricks that led BGE to develop the platesetter in the first place...we're all learning every day..

If you need help structuring a diet, or want some good reading material on how to structure your diet, shoot me an email.
The main mistake allot of people make is dropping calories too low, too fast. You want to be eating the most you possibly can, while still losing weight. Because when you stall(and you will), you need to remove calories. Restricting them too much, not only hurts your metabolism, but makes it harder for you to subtract calories(that may not be there).
I helped my brother out, he went from 250's to 190's in less then 3 months. -
