Older Clay Kamoda

I just bought an older "orange egg" from a guy on craigslist. He brought it back from Japan with him in the early '70s. I have my large BGE up at our cabin, and I plan on keeping Mr. Orange at home. He mentioned that he was told since it is clay I should keep it out of the rain and snow. I'm also a little concerned about doing high temp cooks with this.
I guess I'm looking for help from anyone who might have some experience with these.
Thanks,
Mac

Like you said, keep it out of rain, snow, and don't cook on it above 375ish

Thanks much. I actually just found those after doing some research on another site.
