cant get it to grow in my yard in mass, looks to be doing great in maine, dont understand why. got some cranberries growing in maine as a sample, going for a small bog if i find more plantings this year. love a garden that comes back year to year on its own, mint, cranberries,blueberries(6 varieties), asparagus, and asian pairs seem to be working well so far, might plant some rhubarb this spring as well

Thanks Molly, Jonsing allowed, hahahaha, I thought it was awfully early for Colorado to look like that but then I don't question much till I have woken up.

Here are a few more spring like shots for you my friend.

The Maple trees have been putting on their new suit for the up coming year.

This is on a 6' tall bush in the swamp near my house. The blossom is about 3/4" across. I didn't see the bug until I was back home.

This is sort of a swampy still life. Last weekend it was windy in Corkscrew Swamp and these Maple leaves had collected on the water. The green really pops.

We call those nasty little seeds Beggars Lice.A Royal PITA to remove from clothing. The best removal method we have found is a piece of calico cloth. It sticks to the calico better than it sticks to normal clothing fabric. ;)

Luna Hybiscus. Hardy enough for me to grow up here. Giant flowers, some are 8" across.

  • Be sure to bring your camera Molly and if you can, wait till after the spring break is over. It's crowded here at the moment. :( Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park is another place I am researching. It's about 80 miles each way from my house but looks like it could be worth the trip. It's the type of park where you would want a GPS or are handy with a compass and map.
