using w/o fire ring void warranty?

ive done some searches and read that no damage will result if i use my large without the fire ring.
my question is if it will void the bge warranty? ive read the owners manual and it did not mention anything about this.
i am considering removing the fire ring, putting the plate setter legs up and adding a 3rd grate. i realize that my lump capacity will be down, but has anyone had any other issues? is this a dumb idea?
if so, i plan on placing the bottom grate on the fire ring and hanging a pizza stone below it. this will also ruduce my lump capacity and ruin a pizza stone. however, it will still use the fire ring. i have seen other peoples set ups and i want to make a 3rd grate level without using a water pan. i hate water pans.
i am aware of the adustable rig and the woo ring. however, i cannot afford these things at this time.
thanks.

Check the clearance on the CI. You need at least an 1". The CI will expand and this is a result of it expanding without enough room.

What do you mwan by "ci?". The grates aren't cast iron, if that's what you mean. However, seeing your egg cracked, kinda freaks me out.

CI = Cast Iron Cooking Grid.
Putting the plate setter on the fire box will work. Just don't force anything against the egg walls you have expansion and contraction do deal with.
As far as the warranty goes I don't see any reason that would void it. However, I am NOT BGE and can not speak for them.

Used my mini tonight w/o firering in it at about 550/600 and no problems. Just wanted the grate down on the fire for fajitas. Worked fine...Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

Even if it does void the warranty, it'd only be 'cuz you told them.
