I would like to purchase a Dutch oven.
The question is, witch one will fit in the medium egg when one cooks on a raised grid at the gasket line and still be able to close the lid?

Not a very big one. I use a 6 quart on top of the plate setter with the legs up with spacers under the pot ok. But the lid will not close if I have the grate on top of the plate setter at felt level.

Any particular reason for wanting to cook using a DO on raised grid?
Use the DO at fire ring level or even at fire box level with the lump at top of holes in the fire box. A setup like that will in-effect give you the same results. If you are looking from heat from the dome just let the egg stabilize.
If you are going to DO with the lid on you may as well as save the lump and put the DO in the oven.

why do you want to raise the grid for dutch oven cooking, i would want the biggest that fits and raising the grid will limit that. dont know what size fits, dont have the mediumfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Tom,
I use a 5qt CIDO on my small BGE. I use the platesetter with copper T's on the platesetter and the 5 qt on the T's. It works great. I have made chili, stew, bread, etc. in it. I also have a larger 9qt that I use on the large BGE. -

Why not use the Little Green Feet between the PS and DO?
