ET-73 Question

Prior to placing the food in the Egg and/or for some cooks I might only want to monitor the dome temp from afar; must both probes be inserted into the transmitter for it to work or can I only use the chamber probe?

You can just use one function at a time. No problem. The receiver and transmitter have problems staying together if you get very far from. Great piece for $60 bucks or less.

I pull my dome thermomter out and put the ET-73 dome probe in the hole when cooking. Never tried using only one though. The ET-73 is a great device and pays for itself with one good night sleep.

Thanks for the replies. I used my Christmas gift today at noon and it was good with just the chamber probe. I did run into some problems but as with the Egg there is probably a learning curve.
