I cook for five on a regular basis, and I rarely get close to hitting capacity on my Large. I've cooked pulled pork for up to 60 on it, too, or ribs for 25. It has lots of space.

In all honesty BGE should give your normal response to this question a "classic status" and be displayed somewhere in the OFTEN ASKED questions. While "24" says something it really doesn't explain it as well as your often repeated one. BTW - Happy New Year!

Let me tell you that is a lot of bull. When my family gets together we are typically 20+. My XL sits there and wishes I would use him.

So here is my proof:

Just for contrast please note the amount of meat on this Lang 60:



I cooked 18 butts on 3 eggs and took up less space.

My XL gets used when I cater and even then it's only used for something that may not physically fit on my large and can't be cut into smaller chunks.

Ohh did I tell you I have 2 small eggs too. You will NOT be disappointed with the Egg, unless you fail to learn how to use it or don't use it. Many of us use it as our primary cooking source year round.

I like my acreage as well - but he has plenty with the large

RM, I'm lovin the large BGE. If you're standard cook is for 6, then you really should be good to go with the large. Check out some of the common accessories (like the adjustable rig) the other eggheads are using and it can multiply your cooking space by 3 fold.

My next purchase will probably be a small, as others have recommended. Sure hope my wife is reading this post.
