La Bomba ideas
RRP

Today I intend to search the BGE archives for La Bomba threads now that I scored 7 jars. I never paid close attention since I figured I'd never be able to buy any. If anyone has a favorite use or recipe that they may not have posted before I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance!

Like so many things, I'd never heard of La Bomba until I started hanging out here. Since it is apparently hard to find south of Ontario, I started looking for recipes. There's one here on this forum, but the comments seemed to indicate it wasn't quite the same.
I also found this one so I may have to give it a try. Having never had the real thing though, I won't know if it's close or not. If anyone wants to take a look and comment on the ingredients and likelihood of similarity, it might be helpful. From the link, scroll down to "Eggplant and Hot Pepper Antipasto Sauce".

RRP, I have attached some links to stuff I made with it; it really goes good on anything, most recently I've just been putting it on grilled natural casing hotdogs, Marc:

So THAT was the inspiration for the Stargate SG1 solar flare time travel episode where Teal'c nods knowingly and agrees, "The war with Canada"... Indeed...

Thanks for the ideas everybody. I just decided to take a taste of it on a plain club cracker - then on some cheddar cheese that Steven sent - WOW-O-WOWSER is that wonderful! LA BOMBA is additive as others have said! I made myself stop after eating 1/3 of the jar. If any of you other Bomba virgins ever get the chance to taste it - you'll be hooked!!! AnD just why is it that this isn't readily available in the USA? I mean other products from Italy are all over the country.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Earlier today I found this info in the BGE archives:
La Bomba
Greco Imports
Carol Stream, IL
1-630-221-1001
You need to specifically ask for
Allesia, LaBomba, antipasto spread
So I called them and asked for info. They said that this is a bad time of year for them to ship it as they were concerned about UPS roughhouse handling and suggested that I call and order mid January. Only caveat is that they sell in case lots only. HTH! If you call, ask for Joe, nice fella.
