Thanks Eggers! I've been reading the forum for several weeks and finally took the plunge. Today I picked up a LBGE from a local shop (Thanks Kat from Winter Springs Swim-n-Fun). Also purchased a plate setter and pizza stone while I was there. Thinking about getting MANY other eggcessories, but will continue to eggsperiment more before breaking the bank.
Tonight I learned a few things:
1. Basic setup, prep, and lighting
2. How to use the egg as a grill, can't wait to learn more about using it as a smoker
3. I need to grill my steaks at a higher temp for shorter time
4. Cookies should not bake on direct heat
5. And last but not least, I learned that I have a whole lot to learn, but its gonna be unbelievable fun

Congrats on your egg. I live here in Central Fl I am also thinking about taking the plunge and buy an egg. I have seen the place in Winter Springs you bought the egg. Did they treat you well. Any discounts available. Feel free to contact me off line if it is more appropriate. thanks -
Nice job Lei'd, you have obviously been paying attn. to some good advice. Welcome to the group.
Tip: try those taters naked with just some oil and kosher salt about 350. Turn em every now and then till tender.
