I checked all my temp probes with boiling water

It has been a while since I boiled water for my temp probes. Here is some pic's of my fact finding mission.
First I checked to see at what temp water boils in my area and elevation and barometric pressure. For me water boils at 210°. So, now I will check my Dome thermometer. It appears to be very close so no change hear.

Next I checked my Thermapen.

I called Maverick Ind. a couple days ago and asked if the ET-73 can be calibrated and the reply was no. They went on to say that the probes are celebrated when manufactured.
Now the ET-73 using the high temp meat probe on the food side.

Next I plugged it into the pit side. I say close enough for me.

So, now I got the CyberQ II out and when I checked these probes I was getting low on water and the temps went down a little but still this is close enough for me.

I realize I can use cold water as well but, I did not see anything wrong with what I have now. Tim

Tim, we would have all used someone like you as a lab partner in high school and college!

That looks like a lot of work. :woohoo: Have you talked to Dennis lately?

Tim,
I just bought a LBGE and I would like to calibrate the dome thermometer.
I like the method that you used. How did you find out the boiling temp for water in your area? I'm at an elevation of 4,000'
Thanks

Rebecca, Thanks. I'm laid off from work so I dream up things to do during the day. Tim

Barry,
Thank you - that is so cool

Tim,
Thanks - I can't wait to try to calibrate my gauge

Curious to know what you find out, Tom. I still think you cooked yesterday's breasts at closer to 250 than 350.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Mike, If you are asking me if talked to Dennis lately? I'm sorry I'm drawing a blank. Can you refresh my noggin?
I was a busy one this afternoon! All in all I know that my temps are close enough. Tim -
