Pizza night

Just a couple of simple thin crust pies last night. 650F for about 4-5 mins each. I figure my total cost for 2 pies is around $8 bucks vs. $20 from our normal delivery joint (that we haven't ordered from in months). So, a $12 savings @ 1 night per week X 52 weeks/ yr= $624. Plenty of $$ to add a Small BGE!
Ready to roll
Stabilizin'. Yes, those are the tops of my fuzzy blue slippers. :P

JB,
They look great. I haven't done pizza in nearly a year. That is going to change this week.

Isn't it about time for you to be hibernating? :P-RP

Thanks Steve. It's become a weekly thing now for us. At first it was the novelty, just being able to cook a pizza on a grill fascinated me. Now it's more about the quality. The Egg can churn out some damn nice pies.

Hibernating? :S

JB,
They are great! We can't get delivery at home but I just haven't though about doing them lately. Probably make a hundred in the next couple of weeks now

JB,
That's some great looking crust. Do you make your own dough?
If so, do you mind sharing the recipe?

Great Lookin Pies!
Would love to get the dough recipe! -
I'll second the request for a dough recipe. Also interested in temps/times.

Nice pies...store bought or homemade crust?LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

Joe- I'm still using store bought from the Publix bakery. Turns out great at high temps, but I'm definitely going to try my hand at my own dough very soon.

Perfection!!
The wife and I are so addicted to making pizza in the egg now. -
Great color on the top and the bottom. Nice!

The thin-crust dough recipe in the cook book section is a personal favorite. I think it's the cake flour that makes its nice and crusty.

how long did you let your stone heat up. I like cooking my pizzas at 600+ but have been burning the bottom.
-
I let mine go about 45 mins before putting pizza on, and I have the stone sitting on the ceramic feet.

Nice pies JB
