Hello all - I'm Nate and I'm a happy Small egg owner from Northern KY (Oklahoma born and bred though so I'm with "Sooner Fan"). Got it last Friday and have done 4 ribeyes and 2 spatchcocks already - love it. Have grilled and smoked on a Lowes CharGriller with side f/b for a few years but am looking forward to the year round smoking capability of the BGE. We're in the outdoor kitchen install process and planning a Large in addition to the Small but wanted to try the BGE first.
Didn't take any food pictures but did take a few of my trick for raising the grate for my chicken - stole 3 of my hangers from my peg board in the garage - worked great!

Welcome & Enjoy - A week without using the egg is like a week without sunshine....
..come to think of it thats the only week I didn't use my egg. -
Great idea on the pegboard hangers. You will find that many of your new Egghead friends are creative like that. I have a feeling you may also be creative when it comes to recipes.
Keep us posted.

Unless I'm seeing it wrong you have the pegs between the fire ring and the egg. If I'm right I'd be concerned when the fire ring expands you are going to crack your egg. :(
If I'm seeing it wrong just ignore me :ermm: -
Good catch. I missed that. You're right. It could pose a problem. Better to let it set directly on the fire ring instead of behind it but stability might be a problem.
Chubby's Grate Mates (small Egg only) uses flat metal and gives both the height and strength needed to raise the grid but without stressing the ceramic.

I have the mini woo, given as a xmas present. At first I thought of it mostly as a novelty, but it now I use it more than not when I cook on the mini.
