Here are a few pics of the new kid after the refurb.
I think the thermometer needs to be calibrated. It was much hotter than 75* when I took this pic. The other Eggs were over 100*

This XL is 11 months old just purchased for $500. with a nest and the cover.

I picked this up a few weeks ago and it had new gaskets and a new band set(it had the old style hinges)nest and cover. It was only cooked on 5 or 6 times. It will be a hard deal to beat. It is for the most part a new Egg.

Did you change the hardware ? If you did, do you see a difference, other than the longer handle ?

Yes, new hardware and a big difference. With the old hinges the dome opened more up where the new hinges open up and back. The new hinges also seem to be more sturdy while the lid is opening. I never noticed with my other XL which came with the newer style hinges. This must have been one of the last ones with the old style hinges. It was purchased in June of last year new. I got my other XL in July and it had the new hinges.
