Just a quick question about the coop....
Do you know the dimensions? Wife and I are getting ready to build something like yours and was wondering the size...

Good for you. It will be a fun project, not to mention all the fun you will have cooking in it later on.
A few people have asked about the construction of it so I put together a few shots in my Chicken Coop blog. You might find it helpful.

Of course, I didn't include all the photos or technical information, figuring everyone would sorta have in mind what they specifically wanted in their outdoor kitchen. But you can feel free to ask anytime.
The base is 12' X 12'. The reason for the corners being cut back is to give the illusion of it being a gazebo. That's in case I run into a problem with the homeowners association. They allow gazebos.
I think it also adds a nice visual touch, as well as strength to the overall structure.
I didn't use plans other than what I had in my head (and it leaked a lot).
The main frame is built with cedar 4" X 4"s and 2" X 4"s. The outside wall is made with cedar picket fence pickets, as are the fronts of the cabinets inside.
I did all the plumbing and electrical wiring myself. Seems to work okay.
Let me know if you need any other info.

Dear Mr. Chicken,
It has come to our attention that A. You have an outdoor kitchen. B. You never invited us.
Please correct one of these issues immediately.

Thanks for the information...I might do it a little larger. I live in Oklahoma where the wind can blow hard and the only thing I was thinking about doing different was having a way to close it up so stuff doesn't blow away. Might have "doors" that lift up to cover the openings. That way if a storm was blowing I could close it up tight!...

Don't those storms swirl in a very tight circle and get chased by idiots who are potential Darwin Award Candidates??

Wolf,
We get those things down here in Mississippi, but they seem to be drawn to redneck trailer parks. (tornado magnets). :woohoo:

Yep!...And that is why I want to be able to lock up the place!! Not to keep people out but to keep stuff in!! -
And you notice they always talk to the guy with the wife beater shirt on with a big stain...And he has a cheap beer in one had...and several teeth missing!!
-
Teeth ! ?
Oh yeah, they're soaking in the cup by the bed. -
The Coop stood up to Hurricane Ike with 125 mph winds. All that got hurt was the weathervane which was bent an little and blew the little wind cups off. It's still up there.
Open is good.
