Hello everyone! I am in the market for one of these BGE XL...I have never eating off one only seen it in action on youtube...I have a stick bunner smoker "gator" that I had to sell a few weeks back. The question is We really like the smokey taste of the meat cooked on the offset type smokers. Will you still maintain this on the BGE?
Thanks for your help....

Hi ibornagain,
Welcome to the forum. I have only had my BGE for a few months and the impression that I have gotten is that good lump charcoal burns hot and very clean and does not have a great deal of smoke flavor itself. It varies with each brand. I burn Royal Oak, it is the easiest to find around here. The good news is that you can add just about all the chunks or chips of your favorite smoke wood that you desire and get great flavor.

Welcome! I have had great smoke from various different flavor chunks/chips. You will not be disappointed.
