Hello all,
My name is Brandon and I have been lurking and drooling at all of your posts since this summer.
I stumbled across this egg and table in the classifieds over the summer. I bought it from a really nice gentlemen retired from John Deere. Gotta love the paint job

I've been a Weber guy for 7 or 8 years, but I love my egg. It has definitely expanded my grilling horizons :woohoo:
Its like a blended family now
I am in nursing school now so I barely have time to use my egg, let alone post pics. :( I got my first camera for Christmas and I am on break so I thought I would post a few pics :cheer:
These are some untrimmed spares I did over the xmas break 3-2-1 with a modified Beals sauce. I tried Beals the first time following the recipe, and on the second I had to cut back on the Wright's along with adding meat drippings and a few other things

Next are some chicken quesadillas I did on Saturday at 450, legs down on the platesetter. I grilled the chicken before and sliced, carmelized some onion and jalaps. Brushed outside of tortillas with a little EVOO and assembled with some cheddar and cilantro.

This is my motivation to pass boards

Its sitting patiently(I'm not), in our spare room until school is finished.
And lastly, a couple future eggers!

Mason on the left is my 18 month old son. Quentin is on the right, and he is my 2 year old nephew. Quentin is a picky eater and he devoured some quesadillas. My brother couldn't believe it. Mason takes an extra set of grill tongs and drags them around when I am checking on the egg. He just stands at the door and watches dad while saying "hot".
I am sorry this is a little long, but thanks for reading

Well, male nurse to be, I can see you are no Gaylord Focker!! :woohoo: As a female seasoned professional, and a new Egger, welcome! In nursing school, one doesn't really have time for a life, so I see Egging has become a gret stress reducer 4 u
I went back when my little guy was 3 y/o; now he's a 15.75 y/o honor student, so you are setting an eggcellent eggample for your 2 tots
Cooking and egging are great stress reducers (and we all know nursing students and seasoned professionals know no stress, right???). E-mail me if you need more support... :cheer: -
Welcome XY great pictures and cooks we are here for you when you need help, in all ways!

Welcome out of the shadows.
Nice post and nice looking ribs.
Looks like those boys had a nice Christmas. -
Desert Oasis Woman, your words are so true
The hardest part is not theory, or clinicals, but having the feeling of missing out on so much with family. I keep telling myself this is only temporary, but even that is growing old. :(
Cooking on the egg is my stress reducer
I just wish I could do it more often. :(
I never thought a Desert Oasis Woman would be the first to start making Focker comments on here:woohoo: :woohoo:
Thanks much Desert Oasis Woman, and I could definitely use a little support :cheer:BrandonQuad Cities

I'm glad I got lucky and found that egg for sale in the classifieds.
I heard about the BGE, but didn't know that much about them.

XYRN2B,
Great moniker!! You also have inspired me to learn how to post pics. Its time for me to step up as I too have had my BGE for about 6 months. I have learned a lot about its capabilities and still have a lot to learn. Loved the pics of your quesadillas and will try them soon (with some margaritas). Good luck in school. -
Thanks mcdraw,
They are simple and really good. Especially when they are washed down with a margarita

Let me know if you're headed to Chicago-Fest. I know from posts that there are several eggers in Illinois. I am in the north suburbs of Chicago and was at the 2008 Chicago-Fest.

mcdraw,
will do

You Chicago people need to go to the fest in Osweego, it is a true Eggfest. It was held in September last year and it was a blast. Would have even been better without 7" of rain that day. -RP
