I'm right there with ya! I have a medium and half my stuff sticks out the top too!
-
I think I have the hubby on my side now. He told me today that maybe we should think about a large with the tax return. I say we think about the large NOW!
-
Or you could have spatchcocked the chicken and it would turn out just as good.

Need a way to spatchcook beef back ribs, they are too tall for a medium Egg using a rib rack stand
-
Everything looks fine to me  If it fits,it'll cook I was able to cram 5#'s of chicken wings on my medium then put some corn on top
Get the large, and you'll really be able to pile it up :woohoo: I still don't have a large, but maybe someday -
I discovered this morning that the lid doesn't go down all the way when using my dutch oven. :(
-
How big is your DO.My 5 QT fits in my small egg just fine.Just wondering
-
I'm really not sure, it came from the bge catalog, hubby got it for me for Christmas. I was using the plate setter this morning because I didn't want the peaches to burn on the bottom (see Peach Cobbler for breakfast). That was probably why.
-
Well, your DO is bigger than mine but you can turn your platesetter over and all will fit well
BTW your cobbler looks great :woohoo: -
Doug, does the gauge on your small not contact the lid of the D.O.? Do you remove it?
-
Hey Ron,I don't use the lid for the DO.I have used the platesetter legs up,but can't find a pic. Here's a pic of the 5QT DO in the small though(no platesetter)

I believe the right combination is a large and a medium. I mentioned that to my wife and she said OK and what kid will get the small. I guess that means I can't have three.
-
I just need to convince the hubby that we should have both.
-
Just plan a really large cook and invite a lot of friends and then have the food late and cold and the large will be yours.
Having 2 eggs is the bomb. I have 2 larges and they are great. -
I bought a medium last fall as a little brother to my XL and cooked on it a few times, a few overnights even. But after going to the Cherokee Pignic (Eggfest was on the same weekend and booked already) and meeting Big Green Eggs and Ham, one of the guys told me to just call and see what BGE would do on a trade and they would very likely have a lot of demos left over. I had gotten a pretty good price on the med and hadn't gotten any extras for it yet (was holding out for TJV to make a woo2 for the med) but they gave me an awesome trade that in the end with all accessories the include with a demo egg, I basically got a large for what a new medium costs not including the goodies.
Don't know how old your med is, if you're able to get it to Atl(don't say where you are in your profile), or if they still do this now but what's the worst they can do if you ask, send you to Iraq???
