A friend is looking at building his own smoker and asked me a question about will the hot plate be hot enough to smoke wood chips. I didn't know the answer so I thought I'd give the eggheads a crack at it.
So...
Will a 750 watt hot plate make wood chips smoke in a pie pan?
Thanks,
John

The big question is does that hot plate have enough wattage to smoke the wood chips? And at what temperature does wood actually begin to smoke?
Thanks
