OT...how you got your forum name

AZRP

Its been a couple of years since we've done this and there are a lot of new people here, so let's have some fun. I'll start, I got my handle back in the early days of AOL, for a user name, I wanted to use my initials RP, but that was already taken. So I coupled my initials with where I lived and became AZRP.

During my 39 years working I wore long sleeve dress shirts every day. Every one of them since the age of 24 had my monogrammed initials of RRP on the left cuff. When I came to the board 8 years ago it was just a natural moniker selection for me.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Mine was my kid's nickname. We got some early ultrasound scans (before the 3D type) and I noticed that he looked like a little kidney bean in there. Thus, Beanie-Bean was created out of what we saw. We still called him that up until a few years ago, when he insisted on being called by his real name.

My wife named me when I asked her what a piece of yard art she brought home was. "It is a rusty rooster, just like you." See the avatar.

When I was in high school, a good friend's father did the most unique thing (IMO), he answered the phone with the greeting "Cecil"- his first name. I thought that was cool, the handle is just my homage to him.

Mine might be easy to guess - I shoot competitive archery as a hobby and when I first sigend up an ebay account, bowbender was already taken - so I added a 1 on the end, name was taken so I just jumped ahead and added a 7. Voila!
I use the same handle on all the forums I frequent - so that I can remember what to use

We just entered as John and Dave. The group putting it on called us and said we needed an actual name. We put our heads together and came up with SCW. Once we won the contest, the name stuck.

I live in Spring, Texas and the first thing I cooked on the Egg was chicken. Nuked it.
I even thought of opening a restaurant in Spring and call it Spring Chicken. Someone else did and now it's out of business.
I didn't open a restaurant and I'm still in business as THE Spring Chicken.
I think it may have been Mad Max or Chubby who first named my Sweetie, Spring Hen.
With that, the Chicken Ranch was born and thrives to this day.
