Doing a slow and lo couple of butts this afternoon, and thought about throwin a grill directly on top for a bit with a couple of turkey legs. Grill will be at 225 ish. How long do you think they will last?
-
Basically, it is something I should try?
-
Publix has them from time to time. Perhaps your local meat monger can order them for you.

WalMart here in Indy alays has a large turkey parts section.

This seems like a silly question but I'll see if I can help.
You probably have to get down on all fours but basically there are two drumsticks unda each turkey. It's the part what holds them up off of the ground so if you look directly at them, the two things between the ground and the turkeys body, are the drumsticks. Some folks call them legs but not you.
By the way...
You have to look directly at the front or at the behind of the turkey because if you look right from the side, it may look like they have only one leg, that might make them hard to identify since your looking for two of them.
If it was me, i'd look from the front. You'll have to trust me on this, but the last thing you want to do is see some nice legs and then look up and see a shagnasty turkey sphincter. We hadda turkey on the farm wonce with the mostest awesome and tasty lookin legs but it had the most god awful turkey sphincter this side of the mississippi riva..I mean this thing looked like giant insulted sea clam what sat in hot sauce..we all sure wanted them legs..but that there sea clam turkey sphincter kept us from eva gettin at them..that was one very lucky turkey...

Damnit! I was going about it all wrong. I have been to every music store in the region and not one of them has Turkey Drumsticks. Matter of fact, none of them even have a Butcher or Produce section at all. Thanks for the tip, but actually I kinda like going at a nice pair of legs from behind.

i get em right at the turkey farm
these are from a rare three-legged turkey, raised on the free range and in the open air and sunshine

Check out Thirdeye's page. Especially the photo where he pulled the turkey meat.
