First Turkey on the XL

I just put my first turkey on the XL. Indirect with V-rack in a pan. I brined the turkey over night and then I rubbed butter and a little salt on the bird and in the cavity. I also put an onion and some fresh rosemary in the cavity.

I have it cooking at 350 with a few apple chips.

Well the bird cooked a bit faster than anticipated but turned out great. It cooked for 3 hours and the breast meat is tender and moist with a great flavor with a hint of smoke.

I can't wait to dig in!

Well the verdict is in.

I had 10 people over and at least 3 said it was the best turkey they have ever eaten...
