"The Chicken" (w/o the sauce)...Sorry AZRP

Morning All:
Having seen many posts recently about Randy's "The Chicken" I decided I needed to do a variation. As neither the wife or I are big on hot sauce, I figured I could do everything, but the sauce at the end.
For the veggies I used fingerling potatoes, sliced carrots, sliced portabello mushrooms, some green pepper, and on one end (for the much better half) some broccoli. These I sprinkled with some Herbs de Provence. I also used six thighs for the chicken. Here it is just after putting it on the Egg.

I did turn the pan around after about an hour and here we are just before taking it off.

All but one of the thighs was at 195+ internal, so I left that one on for a few more minutes while we started chowing down on the rest. Here is a closeup of the chicken, skin was very crispy. All I did with the thighs is put some DP Shakin' the Tree on them.

and the veggies up close.

The veggies were on for a total of about 90 minutes at 350 dome and even though the potato pieces were not very thick, some were still a little crunchy. However, all was very tasty.
Thanks Randy for the recipe (even if I didn't do all of it)!

Thanks for the great pictures, I am going to try and copy your recipe, if you don't mind.
Bon Appetit.

Looks good Jay, IMHO we just post guidlines. Modify at will, just don't complain when you don't like the outcome.

How is the blueberry sausage going. I'm going to try and make some after Oklahoma. Any ideas?

That looks great Jay, I really like thighs taken to that temp. They are moist and falling apart with crispy skin, what more could you want? -RP

Morning carwash mike:
I agree that most recipes are "guidelines" and we all modify to suit our individual (or the wife's) tastes.
I haven't gotten any blueberry sausage for quite a while, so I may just have to pick some up this weekend. Good luck making your own.Have a GREAT day!

Morning AZRP:
Hey Randy, these thighs were very moist and the skin was nice and crisp. The veggies were delish also with the added flavor from the chicken drippings. All in all a very easy cook.Have a GREAT day!

Nice job, Jay!

Next time you might try nuking them for lets say 60/90 seconds then add to the other veggies.
