Apologies in advance... After not posting much lately, I start right up with OT stuff. But I thought this might be of interest to this community. Eggers, once you perfect your burgers, perhaps you should consider canning them...

There was a time back in another life that I would have killed for one of those instead of the C-Rations I was forced to eat.

Oh my,
That brings back memories. I never got to the point where they had MRE's.
Did you save any of your openiers? I have a few left.
GG -
Still have a couple. Handy tools.
Spring "P-38 Pilot" Chicken -
Hey Dave, I'll try anything once.... bring it on!
... but something tells me it won't look anything like that fresh out of the can.
heee! -
I would almost kill for an original P-38. My last one broke years ago. Never has been a better can opener made. Hoard them if youv'e got them.

Don't forget to register for your new home, I want to go and visit once you win.
I have only one one lottery in my life. #2 in the draft lottery.

Not the original but they are still available.

Heck, it wouldn't even fit in the can! Actually, pay a food stylist $2500 for a day of photography, and they could make it look just like that. Even if it involves making another burger ;-)
Beers mang!

Oh Spring; you brought back some thoughts of the 1963/69 period when I was in the Marines. I loved beans and franks packaged in the 40's. A little tabasco, and salt, the can heated with a heat tab and the lid open to act as the handle was heaven.
Not to mention the cookies and 4pack cig's.
What I didn't know that while I was vacationing in that country re;Vietnam, was that the natives were cooking on a kamodo because trhey didn't have modern stoves etc.
Fast forward all these years, and now I am cooking on the new version of a kamodo, with all sorts of modern appliances in the house.
Yes memories!

I have several P38's around; come in handy sometimes!

I was already in when the little firefight started.

Go to your local army/navy store. They should have some.

I have tried quite a few through the years. None have had the strength of the originals. Some have broken on the first use.

Dude. Just about to sign off, but wanted to say how cool it is to see you posting. Been a long time on the forum, and I always make sure to click on posts that say "Cornfed". Not often have do I walk away without a grin.....especially if it is the last post I read!
Brewskiamas to you.
Chris -
Thanks, dude. And right back at ya! I'm looking very forward to hanging out at Eggfest, and am always looking for excuses to get down your way before then.
Meanwhile, I was just given the gift of Dizzy Pig a couple weeks ago. I'm tearing through some steaks with both Cow Lick and Raising the Steaks. Man, those rubs are great. And in what I guess could be construed as going against the laws of nature, I even made a pork loin roast the other day with Cowlick, essentially marrying the cow to the pig. I'd never tried that, but was just thinking along the lines of peppery slices of ham. I sliced it relatively thin (...by hand...no slicer here...and we're not talking all that thin...), and have been enjoying it on sandwiches all week. Good stuff!
Heeee,

I am glad you are back on posting! Where do purchase these wonders of manufacturing science? They would make some great gag jokes. Just leave a can in the breakroom at work, sit back and enjoy the dialog!LOL.

I just checked eBay and there are a bunch available on there. FYI.
