So far so good with my new garden. Herbs are so much better when they are fresh.
Mint, Parsley, Italian Basil, Purple Basil, Dill, Cilantro, and Chives.

Cool looking pots.Clever way to cover the tray. That is the only way to go and I can not understand why so many people do not give it a try. They need very little attention and in most cases grow like weeds any how.

Looking good.
I was wondering how that was going. Keep us posted at they get a little bigger and let us know how you like it.

I'm on my third go with the garden. Did herbs the first time, lettuce the second time (it didn't go so well) and back to herbs again. This one came with Thyme instead of Cilantro. I hate cilantro so I'm happy about that! Be careful with the cilantro, it tends to grow twice as fast as everything else. I felt like I was giving away a bunch of it every week or two.
Lookin good!

Nice idea! My father has one of those lights for his plants they keep in the house...never thought to use it for growing some herbs during the cold season instead of paying $2 for a little bag, of which I'll only use a small amount of the fresh herb.
I'm going to go broke buying some of the nice things that everyone's showing on the forum. Thanks for sharing the idea! -
Great idea.
Can you tell me, in detail, the exact setup, i.e. light, soil, etc?
Thanks,
PLee -
Looks like good progress! I have the exact same setup and mine look like your first picture (about 2 weeks). Looking forward to fresh herbs.

Hey Mike I know what you mean about going broke after getting so many ideas off the forms.

Hey Plee, my wife got this for me on Christmas. It's called Aero Garden. http://www.officialaerogarden.com/default.aspx?adid=ggl1002.1&gclid=CNjun-yimpECFSUwlgodYVmZPw
When we first looked at them I liked the concept but it's pricey. Then the wife seen it go on sale at Bed Bath Beyond, and plus we have a hole bunch of those 20% coupon also. So it was not that bad in price. Good luck & Happy Egging. -
Wow thats surprizing on the Cilantro, it will not even grow for me so there sending me Garlic Chives for replacement. Also thanks for the heads up on the lettuce. The strawberrys are suposed to be out the end of February. Good Luck and Happy Egging.
