Found Royal Oak lump at Wally World yesterday for $5.27/10# bag. That's less than 1/2 the price I've been paying for the popular brand.[p]Rascal

Good to see you back, Rascal.
I buy RO from Wally World or BGE directly at the mothership when passing through ATL.
Big T -
Thanks for the reminder. My last trip to Wally's brought home one-third of their supply - both bags went immediately into the storage tub.

Thank you Big T! Monday wasn't a good day here but I still wanted to share a good find. I just tried signing on with IE instead of AOL and was at least able to access my profile. Still haven't figured out how to change my password....
Rascal -
what was the country of origing on your R/O? U.S.A.? or one of the south american countries?
bill -
Printed on the side of the bag: "Made In The USA".
-
I'm on my first bag of Royal Oak (USA). picked up a 20 lb bag for $9.99 at a my local grocery. I figured I couldn't beat that.
-
thanks i will have to try there. the only R/O i have been able to find is south american.

I picked up three 10# bags of RO at WallyWorld in Hartwell, GA this morning. It was priced at $5.27 each and stated on the bag that it was "Made in the USA". Can't wait to try it

I have been buying RO from Wallyworld for a while now. Their standard price is $5.27. I try and buy a few bags everytime I go. It is the Made in the USA stuff, and I have been very happy with it.

Rascal,
I've been using (serial bags) of the Wally World Royal Oak. That $5.27 is our regular price. To me it burn just as hot, and long as the pricey lump. So far all of mine has burned clean, no trashy stuff in it.

I've got a bunch of that and it cooks good. I like to mix it with cowboy for overnight cooks. Before I got my stoker, I had it do a couple of "burn downs" and consequently, my fire went out. I still buy it but I try to mix it with other lump too. It's great for short cooks!

Bob In Texas, Thank you (and others) for all the feedback! I was hoping it was worthy of mention. Hadn't seen it at WM before (but it could have been pushed aside for the holiday stuff which starts in September) and wondered if it was on sale or at the regular price. My local source for lump doesn't come close (even with the Cowboy brand)! 22 bucks is a steep price for 20# of fuel when you still have to shop for the food! Oh well, I don't think a tank of gas lasted much longer, and the food certainly didn't taste as good![p]Rascal (still mostly on the "before" forum for my mental health and the benefit of all(?) 8 - )
