Hi all old and new,
Years back, I did a lot of egging and remembered we would post a random weeknight cook just because. Looking around, it doesn't look that way.
Has things changed or everyone waiting for warmer weather? Are weeknight cooks in a different category? Looking around, looks like everyone posts in the general location.
Hoping to get my BGEs a bit more use and getting inspiration from this group??? Just trying to fit in again.

I noticed that too..and wondered if people still troll and get threads nuked and post really funny stuff? Seems less active the last couple days compared to what I remember. Being old both on the calendar and here; the great standalone mid week or any night cooks generally get sucked into the "What are you chef-ing tonight Dr" thread as that is an easy landing zone.
We have encouraged more standalone threads to engage the new forum members but the effort lacks any staying power. So feel free to upgrade the forum value with any standalone cooks.
This place is for the great part self-moderated and does a good job.
Any real shenanigans are over on the Off Topic thread which is worth a look.

How many miles did you put on this trip? Any issues with the bike during the trip? Things you liked or would have done differently? Hard to even wrap my head around what a trip like that. Years ago Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman did a similar ride around the world adventure (looks like close to the same route), I watched the (six?) DVD set and was fascinated; and now you've done the adventure in real life!
I agree with the others, would love to read the details/see the photos of your adventure.

From one Minnesotan to another and displaying the Minnesota plate proudly on my rides.
My adventure bike has 115,000 miles of just adventures (never a daily work ride). I had 80,000 miles when I shipped if from Florida to Germany and then rode another 35,000 miles across Europe/ Asia
I got many batches of bad fuel, bent one front rim in Iraq but otherwise, motorcycle was a beast (knocking on wood)Big Lake, Minnesota

I loved the Long Way Round series and have watched it many times. I would be riding somewhere like coming into Chita, Russia and shaking my head and thinking, how did this just happen.
I've been very blessed to have experienced seeing the world firsthand. I have seen how beautiful and helpful we all are. Never take life for granted!!!
I will say with 100% certainty, North America has the best tasting beef in the world. Maybe I could find some high end beef somewhere but for the everyday Joe Blow diner serving a burger, USA has the world beat. Sorry the rest of the world.

I rode my motorcycle back home fall of 2024 and enjoy seeing it every day but I haven't quit my ride. I bought a smaller version of that motorcycle (Yamaha T7) and worked on all what I wanted different and then rode it to Calgary, Canada and put on the plane with me last summer, flew to Paris and began my next trip. I will be working my way to Africa, riding to the southern tip then ship to South America and ride home.
