St. Thomas USVI BBQ Report

Greetings friends!

we’re on “Island Time” for a few days here, and while I’m focused on the local fare, there are a few places that offer the smoked meats that like talking about BBQ. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

SMOKING ROOSTER - standard pub level smoke, expect to leave smelling like hickory. Authentic effort.

COKI BEACH/POINT - absolutely one of the worst FOOD experiences I’ve had. Nice to order the ribs, wait three rounds of “30 more minutes,” get THREE pork ribs, and spit out half of the product. Stay OFF the Q here.

….. perhaps more to come.

Hope you are able to take the ferry over to St. John. That place is special.

It's not BBQ, but there's a reason Chef Benji (David Benjamin) was voted 2025 Caribbean Chef of the Year.
