And my flavor profile question was to see if I could make a sauce that would be comparable. Based upon their description, this is gonna be a challenge!

There are 5 bottles for $25 on the Pickapeppa website.
-
Rouses grocery had it for $4.12 but only the spicy mango variety.
-
- It is one of my faves also. Up in Va Beach for some medical appointments and looked for some and none to be found.
- Looked in HitH aka Howey in the Hills before I came north for the appointments and met with the same results.

I needed to reach $30 for free shipping at Amazoid so I added a 2 pack of regular variety. It is going to take nearly 2 weeks shipping though.

Got my Pickappepa on Sunday. It is very good! Not really spicy so the bottle will not last long. If you are looking for a flavor profile @MaskedMarvel I think their tag line, "Jamaican ketchup" about sums it up. I look forward to trying their spicy version https://www.pickapeppa.com/foods/pickapeppa-hot-pepper-sauce-5-oz

You need Buffalo Rob to reveal the disliker, but he's retired and drinking beer from his comfy patio sofaGulfcoastguy said:

It’s possible and maybe I should give them the benefit of the doubt. The sauce arrived yesterday btw.Canugghead said:

Time to get past this-been a couple of years since all indicators of any opinions logged on a post have been identified. So, what? No worries.Gulfcoastguy said:

Pickapeppa’s Peppa-Q-Shrimp
Follow2 min read·Apr 2, 2017Press enter or click to view image in full size
This recipe is part of a big, red binder full of recipes and cooking notes my husband has collected over the years. He first made this Jamaican dish early in our relationship, and it’s the one recipe that keeps me coming back to the binder again and again. Most recently, I made this dish to kick off my husband’s spring break (he’s a teacher).
It’s a simple, yet indulgent meal. The shrimp are marinated in a an entire bottle of Pickapeppa Sauce (a Jamaican condiment with the sweet, mellow flavor of cane vinegar), garlic, olive oil, rosemary, butter and a Red Stripe beer. Serving the shrimp with a sliced baguette is essential. The best part is dipping bread in the leftover marinade.

Pickapeppa’s Peppa-Q-Shrimp
Source: Traveling Jamaica With Knife, Fork & Spoon: A Righteous Guide to Jamaican Cookery; serves 4
Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh jumbo shrimp, with shells and heads, if possible
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon coarse-ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher or coarse sea salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
- 1 bottle Pickapeppa Sauce
- Juice from two lemons
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1/2 cup beer at room temperature (Red Stripe works great)
- 1 baguette, sliced
- Place shrimp in a 9 x 12 ovenproof glass dish. Pour the olive oil over the shrimp. Add the garlic slices, pepper, salt, rosemary, Pickapeppa Sauce, and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Marinate the shrimp for about two hours at room tempature, stirring occasionally.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Add the beer to the dish and cover with squares of butter. Bake for 10 minutes, turning or stirring halfway through, until the shells turn pink. Serve the shrimp immediately, using bread to soak up the sauce.

I just cut and pasted it from my favorites on my iMac. I'm wondering how the same sauce marinade would be on pork tenderloin or chicken thighs.

I went shopping for ingredients to make jerk chicken and saw this stuff on the shelf and almost bought some but thought it was repetitive with making jerk so I left it alone.Plymouth, MN
