@GrateEggspectations - short answer No and not because of the weather.  CHEETO needing to compensate for his small hands , little Richard, fragile self-esteem and narcissistic being.
That said-no mention of temperature above??

Environment Canada has started to use the warning colours yellow, orange, and red because "severe" and "mild" were too confusing.

We now get yellow snow alerts.

i get given so much food and treats for Christmas that by the time I finish them all it will be Easter and I will have the same shape as an egg. Rather fitting I think.

I was trained at a very young age to not eat the yellow snow. No is not the time to change the guidelines!!

I've been spending the weekend baking half-batches of cookies. I've got a recipe that I've used for years, and decided that I'd take advantage of this cold snap here in Colorado to try variations of it. I've changed one thing at a time and have resisted trying them until they are all done and then I'll rank them. Yes, one of the batches is the standard recipe.
The worst thing about this is poor planning and finding that I was short of this ingredient or another and needing to make a grocery run.
So far I've changed sugars, cocoas, tried melting chocolate instead of using whole pieces, and varied the types of chocolate used. Yes, this cookie is heavy on chocolate. Very heavy.
When I first set out to develop the recipe a long time ago, the idea was that if I increased the amounts of fat and chocolate as much as possible, they'd be good. It pretty much worked out that way.
Sorry, I can't post the recipe. It's been promised to a commercial baker, who I regret hasn't produced them. Of course, the storage requirement for these is much different than their usual product and that will be a significant impediment. I may revoke the promise one of these days.

@CPFC1905, since Man U can beat the 1st and 2nd place teams on consecutive weekends - does that mean they can also be enough of the "lesser" teams to finish in the top 4?  Or is this just a managerial change bounce that will be short-lived?

Ha! I remember that episode @GrateEggspectations. I try not to glance at the poor saps shoveling their driveways. No time to assist unless they want to rent me some farm ground!

I was out going somewhere when it started getting pretty icy. My current car, an EV, has lots of automatic stability enhancers built in and I've got plenty of experience on older cars, driving on ice. But this thing is strange - when it does start a skid it's more abrupt than previous cars, and sometimes it seems as if it's fighting my own corrective driving reactions. Takes the fun out of it.
It's not good enough to do the job itself and isn't graceful about accepting help.

Growing up in SD, and living there, IA, ND and now UT, I’ve had a lot of experience driving on ice too.  Never had much of an issue in my Fords, VW bus, Toyota trucks or 3 Saabs, but my current Audi makes me frustrated a bit too.  First off, it’s my only full-time 4WD, secondly now that I’m retired, if it’s icy, I stay home and drink hot tea in my bunny slippers.  But the damn thing will scream at me every time I back out of the garage cuz I got too close to the door frame, then scream again because of that bush in my yard.  And if I’m backing out towards the street, and a car is approaching from either direction, she’ll SLAM on my brakes even though I was prepared to stop and aware of the approaching vehicle (and brake pads/pins “seat” one direction after braking during forward motion; if you (or the car) SLAMS on the brakes in reverse, all that seating breaks loose, and sounds like a dump truck crash).  Really hate all that “helpful” software.
I had two experiences with really slick ice, where you have no control at all, but that’s for another time.

That’s two big wins and especially yesterday.  Not a good look for Rubin.

31F at 9:30 this morning. Decided to get a chicken fajita wrap at Whataburger. I was sleeping in den on the couch, I seem to do better there since the flu. I broke out my new heavy weight alpaca/wool blanket . I felt a draft in the night. Woke up to find my doodle had pulled all of the extra blanket on the floor. He had it under and on one side of him. Too damn smart.

I can calculate -40º F to Celsius in my head, but after that I need to use Spotlight or a calculator.  :glasses:

@alaskanassasin We got around 8 inches of snow and a couple of inches of sleet.  The "all snow" line kept moving north and eventually stopped moving around 10-15 miles north of the Ohio River.  As you experienced the snow was a very dry powder but after the sleet it was a significantly heavier combo.
We might see temperatures clear the freezing mark by Wednesday Feb 4th. This snow isn't going anywhere for a while.

Prepping homemade chicken confit for tomorrow night. Will be cooked sous vide.

(The duck confit I cooked sous vide from scratch in the fall was incredible, so I’m hoping this is just as successful.)

@alaskanassasin - Is your crop insurance in order?  'cause you're either really late on the winter wheat or really early on the corn/beans.

@GrateEggspectations Looking good, result and deets in a stand-alone thread?
Recently we did turkey with potato and carrots in IP, also did same with chicken in clay pot, both came out quite nice. It'll be interesting to compare with SV version.

They predicted a "trace" of snow for my area overnight last night. I opened the garage to 8 inches. After work I was plowing the trace of snow for 4 hours. The snow piles are getting too tall for the RTV. I used low range for the first time ever (for plowing) tonight.
