     I tracked the butter keeper headed my way. It is stuck in five letter shipping company purgatory (local distribution hub). Many locals complaining about the delays at this hub and wanting to be allowed to drive there to retrieve their packages. I'm hoping it is in a bin with stuffed animals and not a bin of bench vises. I'm in no rush. I just hope it arrives safely! Thanks again @CTMike for the effort and I hope for a speedy recovery to your wife!

    This is what happens when you outsource and contract labor to non-FTE's of a company. Does one think the contractor cares about a claim against the company?

    Seeing this stings a bit more when you know there's not a "made in China" sticker on the bottom..

    The only difference between batches was last time I used USPS as there wasn't a holiday to contend with. Lesson learned for me. 
    A claim has been submitted to FedEx and hopefully no one else has any issues with this batch. 
    To top off today's news, SWMBO took a fall in the driveway on a patch of black ice she didn't see and has a comminuted fracture of her right radius and another fracture of one of the bones in the base of her thumb. Looks like surgical stabilization is in her future once the swelling and inflammation has gone down. 
    Between my knee replacement, the ankle reconstruction , and now this - certainly not how I pictured my retirement to shape up. 
    Here's hoping 2026 is a better year for all of us. 
    I am so sorry for your wife! What a terrible deal, thankfully it sounds like damage contained to limbs and not her head.  Wishing you two better days ahead.

    @lousubcap is in a list at 5-letter shippers and his packages get extra “attention”.  Hopefully, everyone else is not on the naughty list.

    As a reminder you should be changing the water once per week. If storing unsalted butter either add some salt to the water, or use @caliking's trick of using vodka in place of the water.

    There was zero damage to the box, not even a bruise.

    I would prefer a refund now even though I hope to get in on the next firing.

    I just opened mine. It also didn't make it. The box looked fine but the butter keeper had several cracks.

    I sincerely apologize for this folks. 4 broken out of a batch of 11 makes me think I didn't pack them properly. 3 have arrived safely so far (@caliking messaged me offline that his arrived safely). Hopefully the remaining 3 arrive with no issues (as one was hand delivered to Ottawa). 
    I packaged these exactly the same as the previous batch and had zero issues with breakage.

    Hate to be the guy smiling at the funeral, but I thought we needed another good news story in the midst of a little bit of carnage. 

    Was able to dodge the five-letter shipping fiasco due to white glove delivery courtesy of @CTMike and a few elves from his workshop. Thank you again, Mike, and thanks to your kin for the assist!

    Great drip glaze that matches the colours in our old 1950s kitchen - purely coincidental, as I couldn’t really tell from the initial photos. Salted butter coming to room temp as we speak. @caliking - Do you drink the vodka before or after you’ve set up the keeper?

    I’d post some pictures, but Vanilla strikes again. Maybe I can press @Canugghead into service. 😊
