Replacing the gasket
GQuiz
Posts: 703
In the midst of refurbishing my XL. Do I need to put gaskets on top and bottom? Or will the bottom suffice?
I got all the hardware on. Lost no fingers and herniated nothing. Figure the top gasket may be where my luck ends.
Been a few years since I posted. Hope you are all well.

For sure you do not need the gasket on both sides."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Just depends on whose gasket you are using contrary to what John posted. If it is a BGE brand then yes you need both and even if you buy the new white ones supplied by Rutland then again you need to apply to both....but if you buy the one sold by that guy...what's his name?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Good point, Ron. I was assuming a Rutland replacement.RRP said:Just depends on whose gasket you are using contrary to what John posted.
