Happy Friday y'all!
Is there any significant difference between starting a thread as New Discussion vs. Ask a Question?
I find the latter cumbersome when I click on it to read the new reply/replies, you have to scroll to the bottom, then scroll back up to search for the first new reply if there are multiple.

Edit: I started this as Ask a Question to illustrate my point  =)

i dont like the ask a question feature much at all, they should keep it for newbies but it should work the same as new discussion

i use AaQ when I am looking for an answer to something specific. it gets me notifications. I guess I could choose to follow a discussion that I start with a question, but whatever.

Mostly I use AaQ because it is there. most forums I've been on (going back to Usenet in the early 80s) don't have a specific AaQ feature, you just asked a question in a new post. But it is here on Vanilla, so I use it.

You can configure the notification settings in your profile, to receive email alerts when someone responds to a discussion started by you.

My sarcastic answer made the best answer list...your real answer did not.     What who why

Tis Friday so there's that which could influence whether a text belongs here or there or perhaps anywhere... B)
