I could see that @zaphod you would want complete silence or as close as you could get in that scenario. Being contained in the duct work and in my attic I can’t hear it at all and with ac running outside I literally had to put my hand on it to make sure I was hearing what I thought I  was hearing. I would like some kind of indicator to know that it is spinning (for safety reasons) but that will have to wait for another day.

I had no idea what I was getting into, but the grass is cut. It had gotten dark before I started cutting. Looking at it now there's either a very uneven cut, or it's caused by the three weeks of the grass not getting cut

    Buy a deck leveling gauge.

I was so ready to cut grass that as long as it didn't trench a ditch I was using it.

did you also put a lint collection box inside the laundry room?

    seems like a good idea.

also maybe it would be an interior access point to run a small wire camera wire to check for build up on the booster (for small camera wire look up cheap amazon endoscope or similar)

not trying to give you work and it sounds like it may have to be in the wall.

so maybe at least the camera for occasionally checking on buildup.

Good looking out @Buckwoody Egger. My thought was to first install the booster fan and make sure that corrects the problem of clothes not getting dry, check.  If I recall the manufacturer recommends a additional lint filter if the fan is within 15' of the dryer, my dryer vent from the floor to the booster is roughly 12' so definitely something I will keep a eye on.  The reason I mounted it at the top of the run in a vertical position rather that further down the line in the horizontal (to achieve 15') is because the manufacturer also recommended vertical orientation to help with condensation, nothing further on that other than possibly condensation would attract more build up on the fan blades?
I hate to admit this but shortly after installing the booster I decided now would be a good time to clean the vent with my electric blower much like @BeanHead does (in my younger days I would use a gas backpack blower lol), my thought was I will have to remove the booster either before blowing out or try it with it on there to save time.  Well as you can imagine, the lint stuck to the fan blades and caused a audible vibration you could clearly hear in our bedroom closet.  After disassembling and cleaning the booster fan blades everything is good, you can still hear it humming from the closet so that is good, I will passively know it is working.
My plan going forward is to listen for a build up via vibration, also to check for build up in a few months, and along your line of thinking I can pull the pressure switch hose out of the vent and stick my endoscope camera in there to see the blades, that was a good idea thank you for your thoughts and consideration!

sure thing. sounds like you are on the right side of thinking safe and willing to do the work. i was thinking endo could be run from dryer connection up to the booster if there wasn’t that additional box. some of them are able to be pushed along a run. probably also assumed you had rigid pipe in the wall

our house had a fair amount of deferred maintenance and opportunities as they say - a prior renovation relocated the laundry centrally and vacated the dryer exhaust in crawlspace which makes me almost nuclear mad. but it’s all better now and fixed long ago as soon as we moved in. due to grade and laundry location i was only able to go up into attic and out the roof. only one ~30 degree bend. rigid mounted. only flex is from dryer to that pipe connecting about a foot off the floor. out the roof is not my favorite but works.

the blown speaker in my passenger door that is next on the list.

Well that wasn't it. At least I don't think so. Not blowing any colder. I'm guessing it's lost its charge.  It's 10 years old.  Probably on borrowed time as far as modern HVAC systems go. The suction line is not very cold.

I’m in a similar boat with respect to my AC unit, though when I disassembled to clean the coils, they were actually really clean. Wondering if the unit is just nearing end of life.

    Check your capacitor.
I ran out of time for today.  HVAC company will be on site first thing in the morning.  I am going to be on the road for the next 2.5 hours.  I will let you all know what they come up with.  It HAS to be good news.  Compressor went out on the work office AC (did not fix), compressor went out at one of our rental houses next to work (did not fix).  I did not fix the office/store AC because with the freezers, fridges, slushie machine, etc., it never really kept up.  Window units for now, maybe mini splits in the future.  I did not fix the rental house because I don't live there anymore and in Michigan, landlords are not required to provide AC.  I did buy them two large window units to use.

Can't believe it took all these years to fix my stupid way of adding clean oil. Car's oil capacity is 4.2L, instead of adding oil cup by cup, it just dawned on me to subtract 0.5L and dump the remainder into the engine, DUH  :)

True.  As luck would have it, it's a 0.5L cup, so with my new method I just have to fill the cup once and dump the rest, versus pouring and checking the sight gauge repeatedly.

And after around 8 oil changes you will have self-created a free one.

Your residual looks to be about the right amount for frying samosas. 🙃

Measuring cup-by-cup sounds tedious and messy. For jugs with a gauge, I pour until the correct volume of leftovers remains.

Recently, I had the driveway redone and was thinking it may be time to give up on changes in the driveway. I generally do a pretty good job and love the convenience of doing it at home at my leisure, but one of my cars has a side mounted filter and to compound the issue, it sits above a plastic panel with only a small, awkward opening to access the filter. Almost impossible to change without some drips, at a strict minimum (and it has occasionally been much worse). Oil changes would a tax deduction in my household, so why fight it?

@lousubcap sums it up accurately. The only counterpoint I can offer is that I tend to change oil much more frequently than manufacturer-recommended intervals, so the need to take it somewhere so often is a bit of a hassle.

Nay, canola oil is way cheaper than full synthetic.

Yes, that's why I called it 'my stupid way'  :)

Convenience and doing it at my leisure is definitely my reason too, hard to change old habit. I used to over maintain too, changing every three months regardless of how low the mileage was, then started slipping over the years... to six, nine+ months  :)

Some of you might get a kick out of this.
Swmbo: I am going to a new dentist I am tired of our country bumpkin dentist.
      me: OK
Swmbo: New dentist said I need to have a root canal looked at by newer dentist, it has possibly failed.
Swmbo: Newer dentist said yep it failed will need a implant installed at another appointment.
Swmbo: Newer dentist does not do the actual tooth making and mounting, just implant, but new dentist does, but in a twist, new dentist actually killed someone with anesthesia a few months back swmbo found on google reviews, so not really comfortable going to him.  (new dentist actually retires/quits practicing in the mean time).

A month or so later allowing for healing before replacement tooth.

Swmbo:  Honey! there is a metal screw in my larabar!
Me: Are you sure it did not fall out of your head!?
Swmbo: Yes I am sure! Not funny!
me: looks at screw, not a familiar design but I have never spent time in a manufacturing facility so who knows. Swmbo proceeds to email Larabar with pictures etc.
Swmbo: Going to newest dentist to get the new tooth installed.
Swmbo: newest dentist said the place holder screw is missing and she will have to come back for the replacement tooth because they didn't get the paperwork on it from newer dentist, and will need to go back to newer dentist for a replacement screw so the gum does not heal over implant. swmbo goes to newer dentist to have new screw installed, they also recommend a chest xray to make sure she did not inhale the old one!

Me: in a eureka moment this morning I googled "dental implant place holder screw" and Bingo!  If larabar ever responds to her email she will have to come clean.

Fwiw I am going to stick with our old dentist!
