Wife and kids are back at work and school, respectively. My wife wanted a fun meal before the official launch tomorrow, so I made pork tacos. 

Slow cooker pork shoulder (https://www.recipetineats.com/pork-carnitas-mexican-slow-cooker-pulled-pork/#recipe), finished in the oven to crisp it up a tad. Served with avocado crema (https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/recipes/avocado-crema-recipe/), sautéed sweet onions and peppers, diced tomatoes, pickled radish (https://www.loveandlemons.com/quick-pickled-radishes/) candied jalapeños (https://www.thechunkychef.com/candied-jalapenos/) and toasted pepitas. Topped with cilantro. 

Salad was a Mexican recipe with cucumber and corn (https://www.thekitchn.com/mexican-cucumber-salad-recipe-23728378). Highly recommend. 

Hot sauce was a ghost and assorted other pepper concoction I mixed up (don’t recall which recipe). 

My mother’s ice cream cake for dessert.
