Warranty

Do you need a receipt to claim warranty? I can buy a brand new in box mini max for 400.00. It hasn’t been registered. It was gifted to him and he has no receipt.

original owner I think, when the guy got it gifted, was it registered by the purchaser for/to them?  might be a corner case that @HannahGreeneEgg can answer

Has not been registered. Big green egg website says you need proof of purchase. Don’t know if any exceptions for raffle or gifted items.

In California and Quebec you are not required to register a product to receive the full warranty, you may however be asked to show proof of purchase

I'll throw this out to you. I purchased my XL egg in 2015. I once requested warranty on a cracked firebox and the response was excellent, meaning whatever I submitted at the time was accepted. As a result, my name, address, etc is on file. Somehow the original invoice got soaked over the past 10 years, and when I applied for the lifetime warranty, I was declined based on the fact that the date of purchase was not visible. Now with a lifetime warranty why would that matter? I questioned this logic and got no reply. As a loyal customer who has loved my Egg, I wonder what makes a company go out of their way to destroy a customer loyalty for really no good reason.

check with your dealer. Or your CC statement may have an appropriate charge on it.

Certainly there has been a shift in the mothership.
